Col Falcone – Divina Foligno Skip to main content
Col Falcone is a limestone promontory, standing at 1044 m s.l.m., which delimits the area of the Annifo and Arvello plateaus to the east; it is characterized by the presence of one of the Natura 2000 sites in the region. The woods that distinguish the area are dominated by the presence of Turkey oak in the sunniest portions, and give way to hornbeam and beech on the cooler and more humid slopes. The wooded areas offer shelter to some species of beetles such as the stag beetle, the alpine rosalia, the oak cerambice, all species protected by the European Community. The semi-flat summits, on the other hand, are characterized by the presence of areas used for grazing, with dry grassy formations alternating with bushes frequented by numerous species of birds, including the shrike.
