The Church of the Holy Trinity originally was a noble chapel of the painter Marcantonio Grecchi and his wife; it dates back to 1612. The building, now owned by the Curia, has been the subject of numerous restorations and changes of ownership. The large portal is surmounted by a panel with ceramic decorations depicting three angels; in the rear part, on the right side, stands the bell gable. The church was suppressed according to the Pepoli decree; in 1876 it must already have been a ruin. The nearby Spello is crossed by many long-distance itineraries. The path that touches the church and then reaches Foligno is today one of the most important routes in Italy, i.e., the Way of Francis, which connects La Verna and Rome to Assisi. Here the route coincides with the Franciscan Way of the Marca Assisi-Ascoli Piceno, while the initial part also corresponds to the Path of the Olives, which is a local itinerary between Spoleto and Assisi, and to the Via Lauretana, which from Cortona-Assisi arrives in Loreto.
