This palazzo was the main residence of the noble Roncalli family originally from Bergamo, and of one of their family branches throughout the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Inside one may admire a room with a vaulted ceiling decorated with stuccos most likely by Francesco Silva, with a central canvas depicting Apollo which is attributed to Cristoforo Roncalli, known as Pomarancio. Surrounding Apollo are the Four elements, the cardinal and theological Virtues, Santa Cecilia, Minerva and some biblical episodes. The construction of the building began at the end of the sixteenth century with Giovan Martino Roncalli, a Jerusalem knight originally from Bergamo, but was completed after 1667. The balcony has a valuable wrought iron balustrade decorated with leaves forged in foil.
