The Church of Saint Nicholas is part of the widespread settlement of Acqua Santo Stefano, and it stands on what was once a crucial intersection for the mountain roads, known as "the Trivio". A short distance away is the Casale la Torre, still part of the settlement and site of an old fortification now used as a farmhouse. Known at least since 1295, the church has undergone numerous renovations: it has a single nave with side niches and, in the back, an addition extending into the building to the right, where the bell gable rises. The facade is simple, with a portal surmounted by a window. Inside it preserves frescoes from the fifteenth century: in the center of the wall behind the altar is painted a beautiful Crucifixion, framed on the right and left by two panels representing, respectively, the Martyrdom of Saint Stephen and the Madonna of Loreto; laterally on the left, a pierced Saint Sebastian is represented and, on the right, a now patchy Madonna and Child.
