Fountain “Remembrance of human pain” – Divina Foligno Skip to main content
In the Don Minzoni square, built over the void left from an aerial bombardment in the Second World War, there is a fountain sculptured by Ivan Theimer, called Remembrance of human pain and built in 2004 in memory of the fallen pursuing peace. The artwork is comprised of an hourglass and turtles, symbols of the eternity of time, and a frieze depicting some episodes from Foligno’s history: the sacrifice of Colomba Antonietti, the partisan Franco Ciri killed by the fascists, the Tucci family murdered by the Nazis, the aforementioned aerial bombardment of 1943 and the earthquake of 1997.
