Acqua Santo Stefano – Divina Foligno Skip to main content
You have arrived at the rural village of Acqua Santo Stefano, known for its water sources and mentioned for the first time in a document from 1098. The small settlement is located on the mountains bordering the Menotre river to the south and west, at over 900 meters above sea level. The area appears as a semi-flat area occupied by a series of separate residential areas, but practically part of a single settlement: "il Colle", "il Trivio", "la Villa", "la Torre" and "Piè Monte". Today, they are indicated separately in the cartography as “Casale la Torre” to the north-east, site of a fortification now used as an agritourism, and “Piedimonte” to the south. The area shows traces of pre-Roman and Roman settlements, a testament to the history of the village located along a mountain road which was traveled since ancient times.
