The church was built during the fourteenth century. It was transformed into an auditorium by architect Franco Antonelli at the end of the twentieth century. The stone bell tower with a brick belfry, which stands to the left of the church, and the frescoes that decorated the interior also date back to the period of construction. Unfortunately, the numerous lootings suffered as a result of the suppression of the monastery and its definitive conversion into a state-owned property have significantly compromised the pictorial cycle. The decorative structure has been attributed to Cola Petrucci, Giovanni di Corraduccio and Bartolomeo di Tommaso. Adjacent to the church there is the convent with a large cloister, built at the end of the sixteenth century.
