Church of Sant’Antonio and view of Montefalco – Divina Foligno Skip to main content
The small Church of Sant’Antonio is located immediately after the town of Montepennino, along the old road to Montefalco. The structure dates back to the end of the fifteenth century; it was built in a place which was occupied at least since the Roman age. It looks like a votive building with a simple architecture, with a portal framed by two small windows. Inside, it preserves a series of frescoes datable between the 15th and 17th centuries: among them, the Madonna and Child crowned by the Angels attributed to Francesco Melanzio from Montefalco, and a Sant'Antonio da Padova attributed to Ascensidonio Spacca from Bevagna. From the church we can enjoy a beautiful view of the northern part of Montefalco: the town, with its bell towers and towers, stands among the olive trees on a fantastic panoramic hilly plateau over the Umbrian Valley.
