The headquarters of the Colfiorito Regional Park, located in one of the Colfiorito barracks, hosts an interesting naturalistic exhibition and is the starting point for numerous hiking trails. The exhibition space is entirely dedicated to the Park, which is a protected area of 338 hectares including the swamp, the Umbrian part of the Colfiorito Plain and Mount Orve. The Park is part of an articulated system consisting of seven floors of tectonic origin called "Plestini Plateaus", located at an altitude of 750-800 m a.s.l., between the valley of the River Topino (in the Umbria Region) and the valley of the Chienti River (in the Marche Region). The floors are surrounded by limestone reliefs that culminate in the Mount Pennino, high 1571 meters. The swamp and all the floors are areas of great importance for many animal species of conservation interest, in particular for migratory birds. http://www.museifoligno.it/i-musei/museo-naturalistico-parco-colfiorito < / a> Opening 1 November to 31 March Month of November: Closed Month of December: 8, 9, 10, 17, 24, 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Month of January: 6, 7 and 28 January: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. Month of February closed Month of March every Sunday + two Saturdays 16 and 30 March From 1 April to 31 October Monday to Friday 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. / 4 p.m. - 7 p.m; July and August also open on Fridays 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Free entry Contacts: 0742/681011 parco.colfiorito@comune.foligno.pg.it
