This 17th century building overlooks one of the most beautiful city squares, Piazza XX Settembre. The building was commissioned by Massimiliano Monaldi of Spello, whose name is carved above the door. After a few sales events, it was entirely acquired by the Barnabò family. Centuries ago important personalities stayed in the palace, including Queen Christina of Sweden on her journey to Rome, King Charles III of Bourbon, Pope Benedict XIV. Outside the palace, in addition to some tombstones in memory of illustrious patriots of the Italian Risorgimento, the Monaldi coat of arms is visible; inside, in the Hall of the Romans, there is the coat of arms of the Barnabò family. Today it belongs to the Municipality and until the 1997 earthquake it housed an educational institution.
