Morro Castle – Divina Foligno Skip to main content
The Castle of Morro is perched at an altitude of 882 meters above sea level and rises along the ancient road between the upper Menotre Valley and Acqua Santo Stefano. The castle is at the center of a larger settlement that includes Morro, with its Church of San Martino, and Casale. The inhabited area extends over a vast semi-flat area between Rasiglia and the massif of Monte Santo Stefano-Monte di Morro. The first information we have referred to the existence of a settlement dates to the 12th century and mentions the Church of San Martino just downhill from the castle. Of the fortified building once controlled by Foligno and built to surveil the Menotre river, only part of the walls, the entrance arch and a tower are still standing.
