The Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie, or “Our Lady of Grace”, is located a short distance from Rasiglia, at the intersection of the provincial road with the road to Morro and Acqua Santo Stefano. Built in the 15th century, it is positioned along the Fosso Terminara, a tributary of the Menotre river which marks the border between the Diocese of Foligno and that of Spoleto; the sanctuary belongs to that of Spoleto even though it is part of the Foligno territory. The church has a single nave on a quadrangular plan, a bell gable, an apse and a portico. Inside there are 15th century frescoes attributable to the school of Foligno mostly representing the “healer” Saints protectors of motherhood and of pilgrims. The foundation of the sanctuary is owed to a statue of the Virgin and Child that is said to have been found here; according to the legend, after various vicissitudes evidence of a divine will, the inhabitants of Verchiano granted Rasiglia the right to build the church in the place where the statue was found.
