The itinerary which begins just outside the city center of Foligno, ends at the foot of the Sasso di Pale, one of the most interesting sites in the municipal area of Foligno for its naturalistic beauty.
This site is also part of the Natura 2000 network of natural landmarks of the region together with the Park of the Altolina waterfalls.
This is where the Menotre river falls from the heights of the cliff where the town of Pale is perched down into the valley, by the village of Belfiore, in a series of spectacular jumps and turns, its waters running into cracks in the rock and reappearing gushing just below into beautiful waterfalls.
It is possible to walk up along the waterfalls, departing from the town of Belfiore, and hiking along the naturalistic path with an itinerary that illustrates the various environmental peculiarities typical of this section of the Menotre river. The path then continues past Pale, towards the Sasso di Pale, a limestone relief home to the most important rocky woodland of holm oaks in Umbria.
