On the rusticated portal one may note the Bacerotti family crest on the right and the manufacturer's trademark on the left. On the architrave there is the inscription - today barely legible - "Hac domo Bacerotta fida coin venit MDXIII" which recalls the activity of the Bacerotti family, who were papal minters. That is why the coins minted under Pope Leo X (1513-1521), called “Leoni”, bore the initials “BG” of Bacerotti Giovanni. The brothers Antonio and Scipione Bacerotti later continued to mint coins for the pope, but without adding a personal mark.
