The small mountain village of Vallupo, located at an altitude of 930 meters above sea level, consists of a handful of houses and a small church. The Vallupo church is historically known for having given refuge, since September 1943, to groups of partisans. The time of war and resistance culminated with the tragic roundups of February 3rd, 1944, which involved all the mountainous areas of Foligno. Don Pietro, parish priest of this area at the time, was tried and deported.
